The REVLON One-Step Volumizer Plus hair tool looks similar to the original except for its slimmer barrel and handle. Besides looking a bit different, it feels lighter too, so it's easier to maneuver and handle. This updated version features a series of heat settings, including a new "medium" temperature that is gentler on locks. And its bristle-covered tip is now removable (for easy cleaning and storage), and coated in ceramic that better distributes heat. While these tweaks may seem small, they make a big difference, according to users.
Compared to the original REVLON One-Step Volumizer - it dries damp hair in as little as 20 minutes, with long-lasting silkiness and results. From our testing, we noticed even smoother and shinier results (compared to the original).
The smaller head makes it easier to rotate the wand to create volume at the roots or create a curl at the ends.
The difference in performance and results is subtle and may not ring true for everyone, but after testing the dryers back to back, the improvement to the finished style is noticeable.

✔ Smaller size: The Revlon Plus is smaller than the original. This makes it better suited to adding volume to shorter hair styles, better suited for travelling, all while being more technically advanced. In particular, it has a smaller barrel and a thinner handle.
✔ New charcoal Bristles: The bristles on the brush have been infused with charcoal, which means they can draw out impurities from the scalp and hair to reduce grease and product build-up.
✔ Redesigned barrel: The centre of the barrel is made from ceramic-titanium tourmaline. This material helps reduce friction as you pull the brush through your hair to reduce frizz and add shine.
✔ Better heat distribution: The Revlon Plus also better distributes the heat across the hot brush, meaning your hair is subjected to less heat damage. The brand even claims that heat exposure is half of what it is with the original Revlon One-Step.
✔ Detachable head: The head on the Revlon One-Step Volumizer Plus can be removed. This not only makes it easier to store at home, but it makes it much more suitable for travelling with. At the time of writing, the Revlon Plus is only compatible with one attachment. It’s likely that Revlon will introduce new attachments in due course.
✔ Quieter: The Revlon Plus is still quite a loud tool, yet it’s noticeably quieter than the original Revlon which is one of the loudest dryers we’ve used.
» Brush your hair well first to avoid pulling and tugging your hair, then use a heat protection spray and any other styling or smoothing creams that you might usually use.
» Section your hair to make it easier to control and for better, sleeker results.
» To speed up the process, brush your hair through with the brush on the high heat setting a few times before styling, as this makes it quicker to get from wet to sleek. Alternatively, for quicker styling and less damage, let your hair air-dry a little first.
» Hold the brush in the hair, wrapping your hair around the brush for the best volume and curl, aka don’t pass it too quickly through your hair, as it will take longer to dry and style.
» The curlier your hair, the more product you should apply prior to styling to both protect and get the best results. If you have very curly hair, you might find the bristles too densely packed to pass comfortably through your hair.
» For more of a curled finish, keep twisting the hair around the brush, with emphasis on the narrower side of the brush for more curl. For a straighter hair look, concentrate placing the hair on the flatter side.
» For extra volume, pull the brush up vertically at the roots, but hold the brush here for a few seconds before pulling through the rest of your hair. Try using a cooler temperature setting on this area for max volume.

Revlon's One-Step Volumizer Plus is definitely better than the original thanks to its new features. Keep in mind, that the original tool also does such a great job and it can be hard to notice an obvious difference in the way the two perform. Overall, the Plus creates even greater volume with greater control and gives you more shine.
It's easier to use than the original. It’s easy to store and travel with. It’s quieter. Its smaller brush brings a level of versatility that is rare with hot air stylers and can be used on both short and long styles to achieve a range of looks. Overall, we love the Plus and highly recommend it!
If you currently own the REVLON One-Step Volumizer 1.0 original and it still works well, we don't suggest replacing it with the Plus. However, if you haven’t tried either tool or you’re looking to replace your original One-Step, we would definitely recommend purchasing the Plus.
I have used this once and love it. I also have the larger dryer, volumizer. They perform the same. This one is easier for traveling due to the detachable head.
It dries my hair faster and leaves it considerably better than a blower and a brush separately. The hair also feels smoother.
Works great for quick touch ups after a workout.
It’s super, but I have to keeping practicing because it leaves the hair shinny!
I would buy it again. It is what my hair care needed.
